Hi, I’m Caitlin and I write Clutter Cubed (or C3) to help others and myself work through the overwhelming problem of clutter.
C3 is about conquering clutter in your daily life, from the point of view of a woman who struggles with clutter herself. I share my experiences as I make the journey from a cluttered pack rat who lives in fear of house-guests to a confident hostess with a tidy, welcoming home.
For now I mainly focus on physical clutter and use myself as a case study.
This is not one of those professional organizer blogs written by someone who has been neat and tidy their whole life and is good enough at it to make organization a career. It’s written by me, someone who has never found it easy to “just get rid of it” or “just tidy it up”.
When I first turned to the Internet for help with my clutter problem, I found many articles written by people who had obviously never had a serious clutter problem themselves. I’d see articles that secrets to decluttering were “don’t hoard items” or “don’t keep items you don’t use”. Well no sh*t, Sherlock! I already know I’m not supposed to be saving items for years “just in case”. If the problem was solved that easily, I wouldn’t have been looking for help.
Now I strive to help myself, and help others along the way. Please join me in my journey! I love getting comments from readers!
I call it Clutter Cubed because to me that brings to mind organizing everything into neat little boxes. Whether these boxes are actual boxes to store physical things or simply ideas used to organize your life can be left up to you.
